below I copied 2 online comments referred to
our CD "Travels of the Spider - Electroacoustic
Music from Argentina", with ea/cm pieces by
Ricardo Dal Farra, Alejandro Iglesias-Rossi,
Martin Fumarola, Daniel Schachter, and Teodoro
Cromberg. The first quoted comments are available
in the "Forced Exposure" web site in the USA and
the second ones are in the Silenzio Home Page
in Italy.

"Compilation of, well, electroacoustic music from
Argentina spanning the last decade or so (1988-1998)
containing several fascinating extensions of recent
computer-aided-composition/processing technology by
an otherwise unheralded crew of composers working
within the tresses of the global computer-music
'scene'. Pieces by Daniel Schachter, Ricardo Dal
Farra, Martin Alejandro Fumarola, Alejandro
Iglesias-Rossi, and Teodoro Cromberg, all forge
impressive new avenues of 'sound research' through
an inescapably mutant collection of timbres/waveforms/
sonic events. It's understandable why this was
brought into the world by the same folks that
unearthed those prime Pauline Oliveros & Rune
Lindblad tape masterpieces right when we needed
them the most. Stunning." -- Hrvatski.

Travels of the Spider

Ideale seguito della recente raccolta Desde el otro
lado che racchiudeva opere elettroacustiche di autori
sudamericani, questa Travels of the Spider arriva a
precisare ancor meglio il discorso scendendo nello
specifico della nuova scena elettroacustica argentina.
Cinque sono gli autori qui rappresentati Daniel
Schachter, Ricardo Dal Farra (giŕ eloquentemente
presente sulla precedente antologia), Martin Alejandro
Fumarola, Alejandro Iglesias Rossi, Teodoro Cromberg.
Belli specialmente i brani (uno di Dal Farra e quello
di Cromberg) dove all'elemento elettronico si aggiunge l'elemento "acustico"
(trattato, processato e doppiato elettronicamente) dello strumento
tradizionale (la
mukha veena di Joseph Celli e la marimba di Angel Frette).

(CD; Pogus Productions; L. 30.000)
