Greetings. You are receiving this message because:
(A) you're on the feedback monitor mailing list; or
(B) you're on the N-TAC mailing list; or
(C) you're a friend and I'm too lazy to call you on the phone.
My apologies if you receive this more than once - when combining the lists, I
might've ended up with some duplicates.
Anyway, I'm just writing to let you know about a little bash I'm throwing this
coming Thursday and Friday, Feb 4th and 5th to celebrate the third anniverary
of my radio show, feedback monitor. All of the info appears in the press
In addition, I'll be spinning a dark ambient set at a goth/ambient/noise show
this Wednesday, Feb 3rd at Lee's Palace. The bands playing are Ariel, Walls of
Jericho and Mara's Torment, and admission is only $3. So if you've still got
some black clothes in the closet, break them out and come on down.
And finally, I'd like to encourage you to head out to the Music Gallery on
Saturday, the 6th to check out Solvent & Lowfish with DJs Utility and Oval
Roaster. I'm not involved, but it'll still be a great show. :)
The first week of February marks the third anniversary of FEEDBACK MONITOR, a radio show heard on CIUT 89.5 FM in Toronto every Tuesday night from 10 PM until midnight featuring the latest in electronic and experimental music, including techno, ambient, trip-hop, drum'n'bass, noise and more. The mark the occasion, the show's host is presenting two nights of live electronic music at CLINTON'S (693 Bloor St. W.) on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4th and FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5th.
Performing on Thursday, February 4th will be (in planned order of appearance):
dreamSTATE - the deep ambient project of duo Scott McGregor Moore and Jamie Todd who recently released their debut CD, Between Realities, on their own e-space recordings label.
BITTER HARVEST - solo work from Scott Mackay (Ph˙cus) featuring loops, drones and samples constructed live into an ethno-ambient mixture reminiscent of Muslimgauze and Rapoon.
THE RUST BROTHERS - infamous turntable terrorists whose claims to fame include work with MuchMusic's Sook-Yin Lee and blowing DJ Spooky off the stage when they opened for him a year or so ago.
Spinning sounds throughout the evening will be DJ GREG CLOW, the host of Feedback Monitor.
Performing on Friday, February 5th will be (in planned order of appearance):
ATONEMENT - a new dark electronic project featuring Heiki Sillaste (Digital Poodle, Kinder Atom) and David S. Faris (Parade, In Another Life), this will be the duo's live debut, serving as a prelude to the spring release of their debut CD Doctrine of Atonement on Faris' own Plan Eleven label.
SYNKRATIC - experimental techno from brothers Dario and Marco Del Degan who will be presenting radically reworked versions of tracks from their CD birth astride a grave along with new material.
NAW - hard, dubby & minimal beats from Neil Wiernik, a multimedia artist who has done music work with Ph˙cus, Technopest, The Crystal Methodists and more, and whose visual and computer work has appeared in museums and galleries worldwide.
Rounding out the night with DJ action before, between & after the live sets will be LEX from LEGION OF GREEN MEN
Admission each night is a mere FIVE DOLLARS, with doors opening at 9:30 PM. Both nights are 19+ events. For more information, contact Greg Clow at firstname.lastname@example.org.
