ditto Thanks Kevin (fwrd cc: professor buffy sainte-marie @
cradleboard.org )

Xcellent. Well then, it seems i 'really' do hear hints of a Masters or
EBook.. my Thesis Defense ? ie Buffy Sainte-Marie as a composer &
contributor to Women in Electronic Music 9.4 ...
CeCeContact ? tho i highly doubt she relies on her co-producers as
Pierre Boulez relied on his Technicians in France. De Construcing
Culture ? now, there's a subtite. Tho Sainte-Marie did not code th
software she'd be Xtremely involved in th composing process ? you can
hear th use of electronic midi samples in 'Falling Angels'. but then
what is ElectroAcoustics, did you say ? you'd be a great prof
with rigourous academic standards and i'd appreciate dat besides your
knowledge and advice about grains of th voice / sound / electronics /
rice etc :-)

Now, about that friendly interactive ElectroAcoustic Hockey Game with
'shadow puppet' players from www.dial.nsu & concordia & sfu & nasa :-)
or what was that idea that Ned had a few weeks
back ?

is Grover 'really' 50 year of age ? are computers additional tools for
'real' art ? perhaps that was not a typo. re: Sainte-Maries's website.
ie i 'think' i saw Kenneth Newbie filming a shadow puppet
play.

but you'd be correct to say that aboot moi, i am definitely in need of
an EDITOR, as th CEClist et al and i will admit if we were to jury DAT
!!! 2 Emails per day with 75 word limit, no ascii art 101 or
jpegs ? ;-) but then i wouldn't get to hear all th interesting
dis.cussions with Eliot & Morgan on da Quest et al ... i love
acousmatics and soundscape with reasons to listen :-)

we could always request permission of Sainte-Marie if it would be OK if
we MP3 copies of The Angels & Poppies to each other for use as Early
Electronic Music for use in Electroacoustic Courses in
Universities ? i will make MP3 copies if it is OK and send to Professor
Kevin Austin at Concordia Université, Quebec :-)

i'll get my handy dandy Peak Editor out o th back o dat train on tracks
ramblin by dis litte village on th edge o time ... o, sorry dat sounded
like poetri ... long poetry like a long train (of thought) ...

     hello Kevin et al

here are a few more URLs which relate to Buffy Sainte-Marie and
Electronic Arts / Music ... there are audio examples ie MP3.com tho
i
cannot find examples for Poppies & The Angels except on her Best of
2
album ... i can send you an MP3 copy if you'd like .. is dat
legal ?
as an early example of computer score with voice it is radical
(like
science & art) .. there are more sites on google ...

but i wonder if Buffy Sainte-Marie is acknowledged in EA /
Electronic
Music Courses for her early pioneering work ? if not i hope she
will be
listened to in this light :-) did you ever see th movie of
Ste-Marie
computing on her lap top in a tee-pee ? i wish i could remember th
film
name - more research for me, Xcellent :-)

     best regards, sylvi macCormac
