Digi002 is notorious for not working well with long (=+2m FW lengths),
infact one of the DAE error numbers (can't remember from top of my head
which one )refer to too long FW cable/run. The crazy thing is that we
have had that error with the cables that are sold with the unit?!
Having said all this I know of people whom have managed to run 002s
with the original cables or even longer ones.
I have run MOTU828 on a 7m FW chain consisting of 3 different cable and
seemed to be fine, but I was only running it at 44.1/16bits at the time
with about 12-16 tracks max.
