Yes. Note also that the same subwoofer is often used to reproduce the
LFE channel as well as the sub-bass derived from the 5 other channels
through the playback system's "bass manager", although the cross-over
frequency in that case is set @ 80 Hz. If, as often, the mixing
engineer has derived the LFE content from the regular channels, and one
of the two is out of phase with the other...
And to add some further complication, the same subwoofer has to be set
at +10 db for a Dolby Digital (AC-3) source, but at 0 db for a DVD-A
