I'm much more interested in a bank of raw recordings, un-composed
sounds/samples. I'm not proposing sharing complete pieces, just some
materials. Respectfully, that is not Sonus. Initially, I see this
proposed bank as an ea composer's tool, not a research tool.
At the very least, I think it would be amazing to see what some of us
would do with each other's materials. I'm sure we all have samples and
recordings we haven't used in years, or probably never will use again
in another piece. They're just sitting there. This kind of project
could 'give them new life', if you will. As well, in lieu of actually
all meeting in a conference somewhere, we could get more 'intimate', I
suppose, by sharing our own way of hearing our part of the world, our
sonic edits, our 'paints'.
