Keywords are fine. Keyword searches can't read your mind, but 'soundwalk,
Sydney, traffic, tourist chatter' or 'vowel phoneme segments, middle aged
male, US accent' should be enough to do a useful if not quite psychic job
of divining what's available and what someone might want.

For processed sounds some description of the processing (granulated,
Metasynthed, FFT, timestretch) should be enough to provide an equivalently
useful ballpark description.

Custom s/ware development for searches and interfaces is always a bad idea,
and going down that route will only guarantee a lot of wasted time and a
system that never quite gets to v1.0.
