I suspect I could find other examples - I'm pretty sure there are quotes by
Vangelis and Mike Oldfield along similar lines - without trying all that hard.

Didn't Stocky say something similar once as well?

What PM may have done is made *some* people more sceptical about the
claims. But in general, both the claims and music listeners who believe
them seem to be alive and well.
