it's interesting following this thread now about
learning to like what at first you didn't. i don't
have anything too profound to add other than the
reflection that at first, i didn't (really didn't)
like:

metal (as in heavy metal, thrash, etc..all variants)
hiphop/rap
12 tone/atonal/non-tonal
cage (not his music which was never played, but just
whatever was covered about him on that half-page in
the textbook)
noise (as in the music)
punk
'classical'

basically, i only really liked ac/dc (which i
considered rock, not metal)

and now some of my favorite artists are:
brutal truth (punk meets metal)
ghetto boys (DAMN FUNNY hip hop yo), dj screw, tricky,
spooky, shadow and others.
webern, boulez's piano sonatas, nono
cage, of course, AND his music (as well as the rest of
the ny school)
merzbow, haije kaino, richard ramirez
bach, beethoven, bartok (still don't like mozart or
brahms though)

and of course, still love ac/dc.

i'm not sure what that means? (maybe my standards have
dropped :)
