i abhor the notion that anyone should 'be expected to' or 'have to' like
anything in order to be accepted, even in a scientific study. Orwellian
indeed. or Pavlovian.

i stood by and watched so many of my fellow Masters students do this -
and turn into mediocre composers worshipping a very famous UK composer
who shall remain nameless unless you wish me to name.

imitation is not creation.
