wow... yes..please... requests....
i spent about 5 years studying the folk music of the Caucasus and the
former Soviet union....
got a collection of sound recordings from Georgia/Armenia/Azerbaijan,
but its very hard to get hold of world music from outside the 'popular'
region of the Caucasus - most likely as the musical scales become more
complicated (even Georgia has 31 divisions of the octave, rather like
ancient Greece) and less 'easy listening'...
its great stuff if you can get hold of it though... i have transcribed
books of it, all in Russian... someday i shall learn the language...
