The Florida International University New Music Ensemble announces a
call for works for instrument(s) and/or voice that include tape,
and/or electronics and/or video for possible performance during the
2005 ­ 2006 season. Only works that include tape and/or electronics
and/or video with instrument(s) or voice up to 8 performers will be
considered. Composers can submit up to two works. There are no
restrictions as to the composer¹s age, sex, nationality, etc. and
there is no entry fee.

The following instruments and voice (one on a part) are available:
flute, clarinet, violin, viola, contrabass, piano, percussion,
soprano voice. Please send a score, notes, bio, CD and/or DVD and
include a SASE if you would like your work returned, otherwise works
that are not selected will be recycled. If a work is selected,
performance materials must be made available upon request without
charge. The deadline for the receipt of submissions is August 12. The
works selected will be posted by mid September on the FIU NME web
site located at

The FIU New Music Ensemble is a student ensemble that specializes in
the performance of contemporary chamber, experimental and electronic
music with an emphasis on the music written over the last 40 years.
The group includes graduate and undergraduate music performance
majors, and performs concerts on campus and in the South Florida
community at festivals, museums, galleries, libraries, and at other
universities. The ensemble is patterned after NODUS, the faculty
contemporary chamber music ensemble at FIU.
