TORONTO, ON - The Deep Wireless "Radio Without Boundaries" conference
will explore the many potentials, boundaries and artist perspectives
of radio through conference sessions by leading artists and producers
in the field. Conference passes also include free admission to all
Deep Wireless performances from May 27-29 including performances by
Evalyn Parry, Gregory Whitehead (USA), Chris Brookes, Anna Friz, Eric
Leonardson (USA), and Emmanuel Madan; world premieres by Yves Daoust,
Milena Droumeva, Geoff Siskind, Dragan Todovoric, and Helen
Thorington; and works by Steven Wadhams, Chantal Dumas and Christian

Session topics include:

-The Play and the Thing: a few notes after many years of crossing the
line by Gregory Whitehead;

-The International Biennale of Radio by Lidia Camacho (Radio
Educacion, Mexico) with an introduction by R. Murray Schafer;

-Radio Art in America by Helen Thorington;

-Maintaining the Creative frontier by Darren Copeland, James Roy and
Helene Prevost;

-Radio art is a multi-channel experience by Elisabeth Zimmerman
(Kunstradio, Austria);

-The Deep Wireless panel with Yves Daoust, Milena Droumeva, Geoff
Siskind and Dragan Todorovic;

-Two approaches to Radio Features by Steve Wadhams and Chris Brookes;

-Radio Resistance, Radio Play by Anna Friz.

Other festival highlights include:

*Negativland over the edge in concert - launching Deep Wireless on
May 1, 2005 / $25 door / $20 advance*

Radio broadcasts on CBC Radio 1 99.1-FM of the Deep Wireless
commissioned pieces by Yves Daoust, Milena Droumeva, Geoff Siskind,
and Dragan Todorovic on May 4, 11, 18, and 25, 2005;

Radio art interventions on CKLN 89.1-FM;

The launch of the Deep Wireless II radio art compilation CD;

The Deep Wireless sound installations feature Radio Art Installations
throughout the Drake Hotel the entire month of May. Installations
include "Four foxhole radios" and "the Lectures of Comrade Stalin..."
by Paul DeMarinis, "Who are the people in the radio?" by Anna Friz,
"around radio roadmovies" by Chantal Dumas, Christian Calon and
Don Sinclair as well as "Radio Art Station" at the Drake

New Adventures in Sound Art is a non-profit organization that
produces performances and installations spanning the entire spectrum
of electroacoustic and experimental sound art. Included in its
