Exactly. It should be a large dial, or a large digital scale that everyone
could see.

Maybe I could hook up a microphone to a lap-top to a projection screen/big
screen. Anyone know any programs where the level meter could take the whole
screen rather than be marginalized in the corner? Or perhaps even a "crowd
meter" software... or an actual crowd meter.
