As part of the Honorary Visiting Research Fellowship with BEAST and US
artist Bill Fontana, a weekend Masterclass with sonic and
electroacoustic practitioners and composers was held in February
2005. The resulting works by some of the region’s most eminent and
emerging sound artists offer listeners with an acoustic trace of the
soundscape of Eastside.
Sonic Mapping provides a focus and catalyst to a programme of
professional development concerning sound art and regeneration.
Funded through the Arts Council England West Midlands and in
association with BEAST (Birmingham Electro Acoustic Sound Theatre),
Arts and Media Training, MADE (Midlands Architecture and the Designed
