mmm.... now thats a perspective on it that actually changes everything -
thank you....

it was, indeed, something in the aria that was tripping off the wires of
what makes me tick inside, i still feel that overanalysis of the music
will lead into grey, dead ends, brick walls... but there was something
about the major 7ths and the cor anglais/oboes etc... that makes /me/
tick, that moves me - greatly - so greatly i can't describe....

it is within me... i know only one other (close) friend who has the same
reaction to the aria...

but i will not be delving into my own psychology for the same reasons -
i'll still destroy the magic....
by allowing my subconscious to perceive, and employing the fullness of
my "id, ego and superego" in a natural way, i can find/hear/create the
magic without losing it in the process....

i have an intuition of why Mache dich, mein herze, rein makes me tick
though. and its so personal i can't speak of it... in the same way the
Allegri 'Miserere' does the same.

strangely enough, it is 99.9% of the time either instrumental
composition or popular/alternative music that does this to me. vocal
music - ok, lyrics contribute. but my understanding of the German and
Latin in those pieces is limited...

what is it about e/a that often does not make me tick, that while i
enjoy it, it has a dryness that hasnt ticked within me... bar one or two

one of those being Stan Link's 'were'.

again, i went looking for the reason within the music.
thank you, Kevin.... the reason, in that piece, was inside of me... it
resonates in me.
