yes... auditory, or personal experience is usually the more natural
filter. one's personality views the world in a completely unique way -
and despite the barrage of information we have nowadays, each composer
will filter in a different way - if they choose to take on that world in
the first place - some work in an internal world (perhaps deliberate
isolation or a musical agoraphobia).

it is how i work, in any case.

others seem to wish to express mathematical concepts in music - perhaps
that is their experience and senses. i personally cannot do it -
although i can see their satisfaction and meaning in doing so. but i
can't see that it involves senses and memories.... perhaps someone else
can further enlighten.

methinks im getting in over my head here - but enjoying all the same.
