SCREAM Listening Roon - New French Electro-Acoustic Music from the GRM

On Wednesday, February 9, SCREAM (the Southern California Resource for
Electro-Acoustic Music) will present a concert of new electro-acoustic music
studio works from France, composed by members of the GRM, Le Groupe
Recherches Musicales. The program will include new works by GRM composers
François Donato, Philippe Leroux, Bernard Parmegiani, Ake Parmerud, and
Daniel Teruggi. The program will be:

Ake Parmerud Renaissance
Daniel Teruggi Instants d'hiver .
The GRM was founded in 1951 by French electro-acoustic music pioneer Pierre
Schaeffer to advance and advocate the development of electro-acoustic music.
Schaeffer, who coined the term "musique concrète" to describe his early work
done with the manipulation of acoustic sounds, was the first Director of the
GRM, later followed by François Bayle and the organization's current
Director, Daniel Teruggi. As the oldest and longest-lived organization for
electro-acoustic music, the GRM has been of inestimable importance in the
development of the genre, technical advances, the training of composers in
the medium, and the presentation of new music in concert and on Radio
