Thought I should comment on this:

I ran the course in electroacoustic music as a visiting lecturer for about
5 years at Exeter University. I must say that there was/ is no sonic
studies or sound lab as such. Due to long term lack of funding they had
only the most basic studio set-up, which was barely viable. Sorry to see it
go, but it was in desperate need of investment by the University, and I for
one, felt education was being compromised. Another session on "here is
something we could do if only the computer worked", is pushing things a
bit. The Department of Music did/ does have some great staff. Good luck to
them.

This is the 2nd major loss to the arts scene in Exeter, Exeter School of
Art & Design will be relocated to Plymouth shortly. Media Arts has already
moved. Lots of exciting developments going on in the audio field in
Plymouth though. (Just in case you don't know Plymouth and Exeter are in
Devon, South West of England.)

Regards

John.
