Hi everyone,
I'd like to invite you to the second Experimental
Music Showcase this Thursday in Aberdeen, Scotland.
It is held in the Student Union of Aberdeen University
at Hilton Campus. Doors open at 7pm, music starts
right at 7:30 (be early!) and of course it's free.
This time we'll be featuring the art of phonography,
which involves the recording of interesting
environments or soundscapes. We've had artists from
all across the U.K. submit work and will have five
presenting in person. The recordings range from Kyoto
monasteries, convoys in Glasgow, gangsters from South
England, ships off of the North Sea, Siberian train
rides, Banchory documentaries, underground tunnels of
Sweden, and much, much more. We'll also have 4
headphone installations at the back featuring every
submission that was mailed in, available for listening
before, after, and during intermission. The event is
open to all, so feel free to bring friends.
If you need more information, go here
or feel free to email me directly at
Hope to see you there!
