Hi there

Musicworks has covered a lot of artists in this community so I
thought some of you might be interested.

"A magazine for people with curious ears, Musicworks reports on the world of
experimental adventures in sound; sonic sculptures, electronica, new
instruments, and old instruments played with Œnew intentions.¹"
‹Utne, January 2005

Musicworks has received the Utne Independent Press Award for best
Arts/Literary Coverage, as announced in the January-February issue of Utne
Magazine. The Utne Independent Press Awards recognize excellence in
alternative and independent magazines. Utne, a leading American
publication, providing a digest of the alternative media, publishes extracts
from articles reflecting innovative and provocative thinking on the critical
issues of our time. About the winners, the Utne editors write, "Some [award
winners] are perennial favorites; others are new finds. All are brimming
with the creative energy and freedom of thought that make them this year¹s
best of the independent press." Visit
Musicworks is honoured to receive this prestigious recognition and wishes to
congratulate all the other winning magazines. Other Canadian titles which
won awards are The Walrus, for best new title; New Internationalist, for
best international coverage; and Seed, for best science and technology
