An other alternative might bay jMAX which is some sort of MAX/MSP thing running
with Java Runtime Env. Moving from PC to Mac seems like invisble. Moreover its
free and it look like MAX. See freesoft on the IRCAM pages.
By the way, some friends of mine seem very excited by vvvv or vvv which is like
Pure-Data or MAX but it seems more powerful and again: free!
