The Art Guys in Houston, TX have a video piece based (I think) on
ball bearings rolling down the strings inside a grand piano. Fixed
camera on the area of the dampers: A small gliding sound is heard,
then a small ball bearing appears from out of frame, rolling down the
groove formed by a pair of strings. It strikes a damper, then bounces
around a bit before coming to rest. A similar sound is heard,
followed by another ball bearing, then another and another. More and
more ball bearings appear in this fashion, increasing in size and
frequency of arrival, until a veritable swam is rolling down the
strings and bouncing around the dampers. Then there is a pause of a
few seconds, followed by a much louder gliding sound... a bowling
ball!
