a) how would you feel if the Americans started telling us how to vote in
our elections? given that the secret ballot is still sacred in the UK
(whereas in most states of the US you must register with a party)

b) from a European's perspective, having spent 3 months here - we are
/not/ liked.
We are either toys on show, tourists - or invaders.
