Great idea!

I, for one, like the old bell-ringing telephones.

Other ideas:

- replace the sound of your email notification with the sound of a
mailbox being opened and a letter dropping in.

- add the sound of an old modem to your email message sent sound

- add the sound of a jackpot win to your local ATM machine (ok, that
one's a bit tough)

- softly yell (!) "All is well" outside your back window every hour one
night this week

- make a cd of sampled old cars running and play that in your car next
time you go for a drive

- pick up a sample of horse manure (easy for those near Montreal's
mountain) and bring it with you to the old part of your town. Carry it
around you as you walk so you can recreate that oh-so-special old-time
atmosphere.
