6th International Sculpturers Symposion for Peace and Humanity

Opening of Sculptures Park on October 10, 2004 11 am
Introduction: Mrs. Ulrike Liedtke PhD (Head of Music Academy Rheinsberg)
Performance: "Etude No.1" for Lithophon by Thomas Gerwin

Composer and Sound Artist Thomas Gerwin includes sounds of stones and the
forming of it, in his work since summer 2000 ("Die Aneignung des Raumes
durch die Zeit/How Time is Making Space its Own" Sound Installation 2000,
"Grenzübergang/Crossing the Borderline"Sound Installation 2001, "Amour fou"
Sound Sculpture 2003, "Soundscape No.9 – Sound of Stone" Radio Piece 2004).

Invited by sculpturors Rudolf Kaltenbach and Silvia Fohrer, Gerwin participated
in "6th International Sculpturers Symposion" in Brueck/Germany and developed
a musical instrument of stone within the last weeks. This new Lithophon will
be heard in front of the public for the very first time at the finissage and farewell
event of the international symposion at the park garden of Stately Hospital in
Belzig, Germany.
