Recording tape is just Mylar with rust on it, and some sort of binder. The
disposal should be the same as for plastic bags and tin cans.

Subject: ecological disposal of 1/4" audio tape

Hello all,

It has been brought to my attention that several boxes
of 20+ year old 1/4" tape belonging to concordia
university's communications department needs to be
disposed of/passe on to someone who could find some
use for it. We were wondering if the tape is toxic in
any way, and what would be the best solution for its
disposal? the ecocentre up near the incinerator?
thanks for all/any help.
