Greetings Acma folks!

In an effort to spread the stuff around, my computer voice opera,
setting Gertrude Stein's 1908 text "Miss Furr and Miss Skene" (1998)
is now available for free download from the address in the forwarded
email below. And check out some of the other pieces as well in Erik
Belgum's ongoing Gertrude Stein project. They're pretty neat.
"Geography and Plays" is a collection of Gertrude Stein's writings
from the first few decades of the 20th century that has now gone into
the public domain. So if anyone wants to set texts from it, they're
available for the setting. And I think Gertrude would be most
pleased.

Cheers,

Warren Burt

Hey you guys:

Your Geography and Plays productions are now up on ubuweb.

http://www.ubu.com/sound/softpalate_stein.html

I'm going to try now to generate some hype and critical response and
just generally try to draw attention to this project. Being on
ubuweb gives us HUGE exposure to the sort of soundtext/experimental
music/audio-art community and I'm very happy about that.

I also want to attract some attention to this project from academics,
theater types, literary types, and any other categories of people you
think might be interested. Any word-spreading you'd like to do,
would also be appreciated.

I'm also always on the lookout for new productions, so please refer
anyone my way if you think they might be interested.

Thanks! And congratulations on the great productions!!
