from what i remember the card will run - check on linux-audio-user, like
Matthew suggested.

also using the latest Mandrake with all the peripherals attached will
install you a very nice set up for music teaching - including some of
the more difficult to configure programs. Planet CCRMA is a must, and
has links to Mandrake-specific programs - the most difficult to set up
is Ardour, but its a must-have - its like Pro-Tools combined with Logic
Audio.
