But as far as most listeners and performers are concerned, a lot of music
*does* fit into nice discrete cultural cubbyholes.

Just try getting people to dance to drum 'n bass at a 'classical' concert,
and see what happens.

What interests me is that some of those people will dance to drum 'n bass -
but only in a different context.
