Hello,

You can take a look at the work of Stephen McAdams to get some answers. There
is some interesting approach like the multidimensional analysis. They noted
that the spectral center of gravity and few other things are importants in
instrument discrimination.

As you can see with those very interesting ref., you can digg deeper.
