i think she has slaves oops i mean au pairs to do that for her...

it depends on the piece. one began with squares - which i saw on a train
when people opened and shut the windows of the train.
then again, the final piece had sod all to do with that.
>how would you deal with beat / impulses ? what literature regarding
>music and scores call to you ?
late 14th-early 15th century Flemish and French music - the Ars
Subtilior. ultimate complexity to the point where beat becomes beatless
- pure fluidity. you can do two things with complex beats - chopping and
cropping - as in Stravinsky and drum'n'bass (although i'd argue some of
that is Ars Subtilior fluidity too).
literature: "Medieval and Renaissance Music - A Performers Guide" -
Timothy J. McGee.
learn how to read the true emphases of the words and the fluidity of
line, where beats cross one another in as complex a manner as
Ferneyhough, but 5 centuries earlier.
>if you were doing an aleotoric piece / soundscape / standard notation ?
at the moment i'm remixing a piece of underground electronica as a
musical soundscape. shapes, growing triangles (crescendi) - chopped up
chaos and finally LOUD. dunno where the rest comes in but it'll sure
have some Ars Subtilior in there somewhere - actually it already does.
>ps sorry about downloading / uploading silence
>i know it's wrong but i have to do it for freedom
silence is not wrong. silence is peace. silence is the only time my
tired manic brain can rest, catch up... i listen to silence at home to
rest my mind, and i'm probably breaching Cage's copyright. who gives a
flying sh*te. fair use..... ;p
