Oh pish tosh. Bring on the noise.

Of course loud industrial noise hurts concentration. Any stimulus of
any kind affects concentration. Poke me in the back of the head while
I'm thinking, or perform a ballet in front of me, whatever. Same
effect.

We all know sociologists aren't real scientists anyway...

Most of the noise-addicted people in this article aren't what I like to
call noise-addicted. I like to call them idiots. If they weren't
listening to loud music, they'd be hitting themselves with sticks or
whatnot. At least the deafness will make the hoodlums less of a threat
after the music stops and they're walking home piss drunk.

Er... I've been living in NYC too long...
