CIRMMT is pleased to announce this guest lecture given by Jens
Blauert. Jens Blauert is the author of the book Spatial Hearing - the
Psychophysics of Human Sound Localization, which is the standard book
in this field.

Currently, he is president of the German Acoustical Society, DEGA. He
is an honorary member of the Polish acoustical society and a Fellow
of ASA, IEEE, AES and IoA. In 1999, he was awarded the Silver Medal
of the Acoustical Society of America.

In his lecture, Jens Blauert will give a tutorial overview on the
basic psychoacoustic facts of sound localisation and binaural signal
enhancement.

The following fields will be addressed specifically:

- directional hearing in the median sagittal plane

- directional hearing with sounds from lateral directions

- distance perception and inside-the-head locatedness,

- summing localization

- auditory precedence

- the effect of interaural decorrelation

- binaural signal detection and suppression of reverberance
