In the past, people spoke for us (and at times, they still do), either in racist terms or exalting the "folkloric" - our crafts, the colour of our weavings - as a means of promoting tourism, without even considering that they are the embodiment of our culture and bear great testimony to our history. Only in the past few years has our voice been heard. Most of the time, our words have been used to dennounce the genocide of our people, the massacres, the destruction of our resources, the injustice. Even so, we have at least broken the silence in which we were kept.
