Subject: 3rd order Ambisonics plugins

Folks,
I'm making available, on a purely experimental basis, the alpha versions
of the new 3rd order Ambisonic panner and decoder (16 speaker,
programmable) plugins I have been working on. They are very definitely
'ALpha' and so may well have bugs - and functionality may change before
proper release - but I wanted to get some feedback before going further.
The panner is pretty standard, the decoder is less so, since it is fully
programmable, at least as far as speaker azimuth and elevation go. The
proportions of zero, first, second and third order spherical harmonics are
settable on an overall basis, later versions will be settable on a
per-speaker basis as well. No individual delay or speaker gain controls,
either, but there are plenty of plugs that do that. Turn off the higher
orders (or don't connect them) and you have a programmable first order
sixteen speaker decoder. Code on both could (WILL!) benefit greatly for
careful hand optimisation - currently it puts a fair load on the CPU.
PC only at present, I'm afraid, as I'm still having strange problems with
Mac versions which I haven't been able to crack because of the difficulty
of debugging on Macs (at least, and I hate to say this, compared to the
ease of use of Microsoft's VC6++). Source code of some of the earlier
plugs will become public domain soon so maybe a more experienced Mac
programmer than me might be able to crack this.

or make suggestions.
