Apparently, the military use is to aim 150dB at the individual
forcing him/her/it
to put his hands over his ears: Sonic handcuffs if you like. This level
of sound disorientates but (so they say) doesn't do any permanent damage!!
Even more OT: one of the worst sounds you can hear apparently is the
sound of a baby crying transposed upwards with sweeping sine tones
(probably around the frequency of the cry).
I was going to try this but then I realised that so many ea composers have
already been there !!
