Well, one might argue that a true 'steady state' signal should be of low
(no) entropy and rather non-stochastic (in itself), however, from the
*perceptual* angle white noise might be 'sufficiently' so (covering the
whole audible frequency spectrum), while we tend to (temporally)
structure (really) monotonous signals (presumably due to fatigue
effects) ...
