Just to add that the cause for my (Western) "German perspective" in view
of the (end of the) 2nd WW lies first of all in the fact that Germany
has been the principal actor/belligerent and also the end of this
bellicose period therefore has been principally allied with the (future)
German position here -- where it is clear that it is two separate
histories that have been written between 1949 and 1990, one being
related to the becoming of the EC, the other to the entire situation of
the ex-Eastern bloc, i.e., implied in a historical context acute during
1917/22--1990/91.
