Subject: multitrack support

I have generally heard that the Tascam multitrack is
more stable than ADAT: Given that an ADAT to TDIF
interface is $250 and the DA78 and XT20 are
roughly comparable in price, I am considering NOT buying
into the Alesis Dream.
Are there any users who have gone down this road?
Thanks
