Music at Lewis" - 2001 Festival is January 15, 2001 (must arrive at Lewis by

"Electronic Music at Lewis" - 2001 Festival
with visiting artist James Mobberley
Call for Scores
The Lewis University Music Department is pleased to announce a call for
scores for the first "Electronic Music at Lewis" - 2001 Festival to be held
May 5-6, 2001, on the campus of Lewis University. James Mobberley,
Curators' Professor of Music at the Conservatory of Music - Univ. of
Missouri at Kansas City, will be the featured composer for this conference.
Each concert will feature an 8-speaker diffusion system. Any composer
regardless of age or nationality may submit up to two works for
consideration in the following categories:
1) Two channel works for tape alone
2) Eight channel (ADAT) works for tape alone
3) Instrument(s) and tape (composer must supply performer)
4) Works for video
5) Sound Installations and Interactive Media (composer must provide all
non-standard equipment)
In addition, submissions for research and technical papers, panel
discussions, and technical demonstrations are also requested. Student
submissions are strongly encouraged.
Deadline: January 15, 2001 (postmark deadline - must arrive by February 1,
2001)
Entry Fee: none
Submission: Submitted pieces must be on DAT, ADAT, CD, VHS, or S-VHS.
Please include a cover letter with contact information. If performers are
required, please indicate that you will be able to provide players. In
addition, "works in progress" will be considered if a substantial portion of
the work is submitted. For paper proposals, please submit an abstract of
topic and technical requirements. Composers and authors whose works are
selected for this festival are required to submit a $20 registration fee and
attend the conference.
Submitted works will not be returned. They will be archived for future
considerations.
