I apologise if my post indicated that.. I didnt mean to...

to me it seemed pretty clear that some of the posts writers had very little
knowledge of the music that seems to have
been the flavour of this years competition, just as I have very little
knowledge of the competitions history and of recent years developements,
but more than that little idea that this very music is considerably informed
by the 'academic' music it was opposed to in the posts, which to me by
definition blurs the boundaries/categories that are being referred to.

well it would be if it wasn't clear to me what I wrote above.
Look I might be totally wrong, I just don't think I am in all respects, most especially in regard to certain of the composers
who were mentioned such as Aphex, Bernard Gunter,
I've got all of the above bar Thaemlitz,
saw Pierre Henry do his stuff just the other night in London (loud!)
Id be very grateful if you could post an account of this...0000,7F00,7F00

I agree but for the life of me considering the speed with which stylistic
innovation is proceeding in the 'electronica' field, which Im more familiar
with, I dont know how any competition could ever be relevent...actually to
some extent I think the technologies and the way they are used by some
composers makes near redundant competitions of this kind... based on
entries under categories I mean.
I hope one day I can write about stuff like this without having to put every
second term I use in quotation marks!!!
anyway, great to chat
