The 16th March will see Powis Hall taken over as part of National Science
and Engineering week with a concert of electronic sonic art.
Music will be created by a variety of means, coming from motion-tracking,
conical flasks and for that matter, live computer processing.
This will also be the first performance of work by the Pelydrau music
project. Through working with sound, graphic scores, recording and live
performance, pupils from Ysgolion Pendalar and Y Bont have created a work
based on the theme of Journeys (be that geographical, emotional, or indeed
spiritual) which will be performed as part of the concert. This will
incorporate live audio triggering motion tracking and multi-channel
surround-sound diffusion.
Boasting some of the leading composers of cutting edge audio works it
promises to be a thought provoking and inspiring evening.
