i second this. try UHJ and see if it works for you. watch out if you
have lots of heavy bass in the rear - UHJ does the rear with major phase
trickery, sounds lovely and sweet on violins, but watch out what it does
to a plucked jazz double bass or a kick drum.

here's how UHJ sounds on a pop instrumental with mostly frontal content
(produced in 3rd order b-format, for no particular reason, it's just a
quick demo):

and here's another song, this time with vocals and said problem with
rear bass and drums. in this session, the musicians were actually
sitting in a circle and recorded live with a soundfield and a few spot
mikes, vocals overdubbed. also done in third order:

at least for me, the "kind of rear impression" does not work over
headphones at all, but it is ok'ish over speakers.

don't expect wonders, and you won't be disappointed. if you want
wonders, buy some snake oil. and probably be disappointed :)

best,
