OBORO

Écrire sur l’art sonore offre un séjour de recherche et une tribune à
un auteur francophone ou anglophone canadien en vue de développer une
réflexion originale sur l’art sonore. L’auteur choisi effectuera une
résidence de deux semaines à OBORO afin de mener des recherches qui
lui permettront de produire un texte, spécialement publié dans la
revue esse arts + opinions en janvier 2012.

is offering a new writing and research residency
for Canadian writers, researchers and critics.

Writing Audio Art offers a research stay and publication,
to a Canadian Anglophone or Francophone
writer, developing an engaging perspective on
audio art. The chosen author will be invited to spend
two weeks at OBORO, focussing on their research
and producing a text, to be published in the magazine
esse arts + opinions in January 2012.
Accompanied by OBORO’s head of the audio
sector, the resident will be welcome to draw from
(without being limited to) OBORO’s archives
and programming, to inform the production of
a substantial essay examining contemporary
practices in audio art in a way that is accessible to
a broad public. The resident will be invited to fuel
their research with stereo and surround-sound
listening sessions in the sound studios, exchanges
with artists, as well as access to a broad range of
visual and sound archives.
