Specifically,

If x^y means x to the power of y
and log2 means base 2 logarithm

the ratio for a 12ET interval is

2^(interval / 12)

therefore the interval given by a ratio is

12 * log2(ratio)

So we can confirm Kevin's result

12 * log2(44.1/48) = 1.467 semitones
