this is true for me too. i'd been struggling through a long period of
writer's block - partly through clinical depression, but mostly through
not knowing how i wanted to express myself any more - i'd written myself
into corners in every direction.
i knew in my head what i wanted to hear but it wasnt until i wandered
into a studio that i realised that computers were the way i could do
it... and the only way i could hear the sounds that were in my head.
sampling opened up a world of sound that i could actually use - a world
that was unlimited - be it sampled from prior recordings, but mostly
from outdoor/indoor worlds.
