Scholarly Tools & Software

Ponty is a project for building page number "bridges" across multiple editions of scholarly texts, through concordances and software. So far it covers Merleau-Ponty's Phenomenology of Perception and Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit.

IndexAssistant for Word is software that tremendously improves Microsoft Word's indexing functions. Use its intelligent and powerful interface to help you view, maintain and apply a consistent set of index entries, keeping track of the structure of your index as you build it; to mark ranges of pages with one click; consolidate single page index entries into ranges with one click; navigate and edit index entries in your document; and maintain cross references. A tremendous time and organizational saving over Word's own interface when it comes time to index a manuscript.

SplitNotes for Word is a Microsoft Word macro that splits endnotes from a document, putting them in another document, whilst maintaining endnote #s in both documents. This is helpful in cases where publishers require that endnotes be supplied in a separate file.

Anonymizer for Word is a Microsoft Word macro for preparing electronically submitted Word documents for anonymous review. Even if you remove your name from your manuscript, footnotes, etc., your name or institutional information may still be in the document properties of your Word Document (see File>Properties). This macro sets all text-based properties of your document to blank (leaving Title, Subject, Keywords and Category intact); note that it blanks text based custom properties too. Included in SplitNotes.
