Molecular Orbital Display

In the plane of the screen, the horizontal direction corresponds to the x axis and the vertical direction corresponds to y. The applet has the following controls:

Set the internuclear separation in pixels by clicking in the little window and typing a new value. You must press return for the applet to register the new value. The display window is 200 pixels across.
Set a z-cordinate the same way as the internuclear separation. The z value is taken to be on the same (pixel) scale.
The two drop-down menus labelled "Left orbital" and "Right Orbital" are for selection of the orbitals to be displayed. Click on the little arrows to activate the menus and with the mouse button held down drag the pointer to your choice.
(There may be additional choices not visible at the top and or bottom of the lists. Depending on the behaviour of your browser, either drag the mouse pointer against the top or bottom of the list to reveal any that are hidden, or use the scroll bars on the drop-down menu to find them. The orbital highlighted when the mouse button is released is the one selected.)
The relative phase of the two orbitals is selected as "Sum" or "Diff(erence)" by clicking in the appropriate check box with the mouse.
When all your choices have been made, click the button labelled "Start the calculation" to see the molecular orbital. The progress of the calculation is shown on the band which appears below the orbital display window.
