Using Webmail (older version)'s mail filters to filter out spam
We are adding headers to mail messages which we think are spam:
X-CU-Spam: by mailserver: reason it is spam
X-CU-Test-Spam: by mailserver: reason it is spam
X-CU-Score-Spam: by mailserver: spamassassin: 13 (*************)
With Webmail (older version), users are able to filter messages tagged with X-CU-Spam or X-CU-Score-Spam, and have them automatically refiled into a "spam" mail folder (which should be checked periodically for false-positives). Users participating the "Spam Guinea-Pig" program will also want to refile messages containing an X-CU-Test-Spam header into a "test-spam" mail folder.
The following describes how to use mail filters in the Webmail (older version), to refile messages detected by our mail servers as probably being spam. Messages can only be refiled into an existing mail folder, so users wishing to refile these messages into an alternate mail folder will need to create the mail folder first.

By default, the mail folder has to be filtered by clicking on the "Filter" icon next to the mail folder name (e.g. INBOX):
![]()
Alternatively, you can specify when and how the filter should be applied. This can be done from the "Filters" option page:

Please be sure to check your "Spam" mail folder regularly and empty it out, after ensuring that no legitimate e-mail accidentally got caught.
Spam Guinea-Pigs, please check your "Test Spam" mail folder daily, and be sure to report any false-positives to postmaster@concordia.ca
